A Grok alternative for work that has to get done
Grok is a capable assistant, and it is at its strongest for a person working on their own. What it is not built to be is a member of your team with an account, a scope, and a job it owns. There's no new app to learn: if you can send a message, you can work with it.
| Capability | Invellis | Grok |
|---|---|---|
| Best for | Recurring work you hand off and want done | Quick answers on current events |
| It has its own name and its own account | Yes. A real account in your Microsoft 365. Everything it does is logged to it. | No. Uses your session |
| It works inside Teams, Outlook and Office, not beside them | Yes. Every app, from day one | Partial. In some Office apps |
| Long, open-ended conversations | Yes. In Teams chat, and it remembers where you left off | Yes. What it is built for |
| Ask it something in the meeting and the whole room sees the answer | Yes. Replies in the meeting chat, as itself | No. Not in the meeting |
| You decide whether it works for one person or the whole team | Yes. Dedicated or shared. A dedicated one tells no one else. | No. One person at a time |
| Start today, on your own | No. We set it up for you in days, or guide your IT team through it | Yes. Sign up in minutes |
| Your data stays yours | Yes. Lives in your tenant; models run in Azure we operate, never trained on your data | No. Their cloud |
| Your security team can see it, govern it and switch it off | Yes. Licensed into the Microsoft agent platform from day one | No. No agent identity to govern |
| One flat price, with no usage charges | Yes. Flat fee per teammate. The token costs are ours. | Partial. Per seat, then usage on top |
| Costs little for light or occasional use | No. A monthly fee per teammate, priced for recurring work | Yes. A monthly seat |
| Advanced workflows built for you, not by you | Yes. Learns everyday workflows on its own; we build one advanced workflow per account, included | Partial. You teach it as a skill |

Its own account, inside your business.
An Invellis teammate holds a Microsoft 365 identity in your tenant, with access scoped to the resources its role needs. Your administrators can see it, govern it, and switch it off. An assistant that runs under an individual's session cannot be handed responsibility in the same way.
It works in the tools the work lives in.
Teams, Outlook, SharePoint and over a thousand connected tools, from day one. The measure that matters is not what a chat window can discuss but how much never has to be copied anywhere.
Run by us, free for the first month.
We install it, connect it, and agree what it has to deliver before it goes live. Thirty days run before anything is invoiced. If it falls short of what we agreed, you owe nothing.
One flat fee, not seats plus usage.
Model usage is included and ordinary business use produces no usage charge. The bill does not move because the thing got used more, which is the point of buying capacity rather than a meter.
When Grok is the right answer
Cases where we are the wrong choice:
- You want a general assistant for individuals rather than something that owns a workflow.
- Your company does not run on Microsoft 365. Our strongest argument is that we are native to it, and that argument does not apply to you.
- You want the newest frontier model capability for exploratory work more than you want a predictable process.
The two are not really competing for the same budget. One helps a person think; the other takes a job off the team.
Questions we get asked
Does it use the same models?
The teammate itself is deployed into your own tenant, but the models it reasons with are hosted in an Azure subscription Invellis operates under Microsoft's enterprise terms, so nothing goes to a public model and nothing is used to train one. Enterprise deployments can host the models in your own Azure subscription instead. The model matters less than what surrounds it: an identity, scoped access, a defined job and someone running it.
Can we use both?
Yes, and many teams do. They answer different questions: one is a tool a person opens, the other is a teammate that already has the work.
How is the pricing different?
Invellis is a flat monthly fee per teammate with model usage included. Assistants are typically licensed per seat with API or heavy usage billed separately.
