A Microsoft Copilot alternative that does the work

Copilot is a very good assistant for the person using it. If what you actually need is the work done: the invoices processed, the follow-ups sent, the report built: that is a different job, and it is the one Invellis does. There's no new app to learn: if you can send a message, you can work with it.

They ship a platform. We ship the result.

Copilot and Copilot Studio give your team the tools to build agents. Someone still has to design them, connect them, test them, and keep them running as your processes change. With Invellis that someone is us: we deploy the teammate, we run it, and we cover the first 30 days before anything is invoiced. If your IT team has the appetite and the headroom to build and own agents, Copilot Studio is a genuinely capable platform. Most teams asking us this question do not.

IT governs it. You email it.

Governable like software, addressable like a colleague. Microsoft agents have their own identity now: since May 2026 every new Copilot agent gets an Entra Agent ID. That is a service principal, and it is exactly the right shape for governing what an agent may touch, so your security team can inventory it, scope it and revoke it, but it cannot hold a mailbox. Making one email-addressable means creating a separate licensed account and linking the two. An Invellis teammate arrives with both: the directory identity your administrators govern, and a licensed Microsoft 365 account with a mailbox and a Teams presence. So it shows up in the same admin centres as every other agent, and you can also email it, invite it to a meeting and find it in the address book. Its work is logged to it, not to whoever was signed in.

One price, whatever it does.

Invellis is a flat monthly fee per teammate. Model usage is included, and ordinary business use produces no usage charge at the end of the month. Copilot is licensed per user, and agents that a licensed person uses are included. Agents that run on their own, set off by an event rather than by a person, are billed by consumption in Copilot Credits, and that is exactly the kind of work a teammate does. Microsoft's own example is an agent that runs every time an order comes in and takes four actions: at 5 credits an action, that is 20 Copilot Credits a run, or $0.20 at the pay-as-you-go rate. At 1,000 orders a month that is about $200, and at 10,000 it is about $2,000, on top of any licences. Neither approach is wrong, but they budget very differently: one is a line item you can forecast, the other is a number that moves with how much the thing gets used.

Microsoft points the data question at us.

Microsoft's own enterprise data protection documentation tells customers to check the privacy statement and terms of an agent to see how it handles their data. Invellis is that agent. The teammate is deployed into your own Microsoft 365 and Azure tenant, it holds an identity there, its access is scoped to the resources the role needs, and every action is logged where your own compliance tooling can see it. The models it reasons with run in an Azure subscription Invellis operates under Microsoft's enterprise terms, so nothing reaches a public model and nothing is used to train one. Our Terms of Use carry that in writing rather than leaving it on a marketing page.

When Copilot is the right answer

Three cases where we would tell you to stay where you are:

  • You want an assistant for individuals: drafting, summarising, searching across your own files. That is what Copilot is built for and it does it well.
  • You have an IT or platform team with the capacity to build agents and keep them running. Copilot Studio is a capable platform, and owning it yourself is cheaper than paying someone else to.
  • You are not willing to have a third party operate inside your tenant. That is a reasonable position, and it rules us out rather than Copilot.

Plenty of our customers run both. Copilot for the people, a teammate for the work nobody wants to keep doing.

Questions we get asked

We already pay for Copilot. Why would we pay for this too?

Because they are not the same purchase. Copilot makes each person faster at their own work. A teammate takes a recurring workflow off the team entirely and owns it. If Copilot has already removed the work you were worried about, you do not need us.

Can't we just build this in Copilot Studio?

Yes, and some teams should. The question is whether building and maintaining it is a good use of your people. We deploy an agent that already exists, connect it, and keep it running, and you pay once it delivers what we agreed. Every account also includes one custom workflow that we build around your own process. If you would rather own it in-house, Copilot Studio is the right tool.

Does it replace Copilot?

No. It runs alongside it. A teammate has its own Microsoft 365 account and works in the same Teams, Outlook and SharePoint your people already use.

Is our data handled differently?

The teammate is deployed into your own Microsoft 365 and Azure tenant, under an identity you control, and the models behind it run in an Azure subscription Invellis operates under Microsoft's enterprise terms, so nothing reaches a public model and nothing is used to train one. Our Terms of Use set out what we may and may not do with it, including the categories of regulated data that need a written agreement before they go anywhere near it.
